One park you absolutely can’t miss is Tenorio Volcano National Park, home to the mesmerizing Rio Celeste waterfall. Picture turquoise-blue waters surrounded by lush greenery. Along the way, you’ll pass beautiful emerald lakes, steaming vents, and even an active crater where you can pause and take photos for those friends of yours who don’t believe you (or for the friends you want to make jealous! We all have them!!) The views of Lake Taupo and the surrounding Ruapehu region are nothing short of spectacular. It’s a challenging hike, but trust us the views are worth every step.

The best time to visit New Zealand really depends on the kind of holiday you’re after. If you’re looking for sunny days and warm weather, the peak season runs from December to February - perfect for beach trips and outdoor adventures. But if you're hoping to hit the slopes, then plan your trip during the winter months from June to August when the mountains are blanketed in snow and is the perfect picture-postcard!

For a quieter, budget-friendly trip, consider visiting during the rainy season (May to September). For the best balance, try the shoulder months of March or September when it’s a little cooler but less crowded.
